what size motor?

hey all... i ahve a 12 ft. deep v aluminum boat, very heavy...RATED for 15hp...i have a 15hp on it... but with 2 people...thing bogs down...goes about 10 mph if i am lucky... with just me... i get about 22 mph or so... even though its rated for 15...can i put a 20 or 25 hp motor on it...? tx

You can put any size motor that you want, BUT, there is a reason the manufacter rated it for 15 hp, maybe the transom is not strong enough for any more horse power.

I have a 12ft 1974 mirrocraft with a Johnson 15hp and it moves quick. The more people ( weight ) in boat and yes it does slow down some. How fast are you planing off?

may sound funny to you but is the 2nd person sitting in the bow seat? If there are two of us or more in the boat I have them sit in the middle seat, makes a big differance keeping the bow up.
