This is the Teleflex part number printed on the steering cable I removed from my 1992 Sylvan 17' Eliminator (see post below). I want to order a replacement from this site but I don't know if I should get a 13' or a 14'. I have done the A-B-C +6" calculation and I come up with 12' 7" which indicates a 13' replacement. I also measured the black to black dimension (more accurate) on the old cable adding 18" and came up with 13' 1" which indicates a 14' replacement. My dilemma is if I order the 14' cable, which is derived from rounding up 11" in the black to black measuring method, it may be too long to comfortably make the bend under the console to engage the Safe-T helm. If I order the 13' cable it might be too short.
So if I knew my old cable's actual size I could make a more informed decision. I'm wondering if the 135F indicates a 13.5' cable, which to me, means a 14' replacement would be the best way to go. I have no idea how the cable size is derived as none of the dimensions or combinations thereof add up to a cable size, either in 6" or 1 foot increments.
The old cable dimensions add up to 182"; 24" to thread through helm, 145.5" black to black plus ends, and 12.5" for the rod that goes through the tilt tube. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mike
