WHAT SIZE TROLLING MOTOR

i was wondering what size trolling i would need for a 17.5 foot ebbtide dynatrak fish and ski, it weighs about 1800 fully loaded, thanks for any help

i use a 40# on my dynatrak, but i don't get into the kind of conditions you might see up there. but even with 20mph winds, it will move my boat along slowly :D <br /><br />if i were to be buying a new TM, i'd opt for the 'bigger is better' idea. maybe you will get some better help from people who fish in your area.

A 40lb thrust motor would work in calm conditions but I would go for the 50 or 55lb. Minn kota. IMO you will not be happy with anything less than a 50. I'm assuming this will be a bow mount. Make sure you get the shaft long enough. My first TM was 42 inches and was too short. <br /><br />Kevin

thanks guys, i thought a 50lb. would work but didn't know. The lake i'm on is only 115 acres so it doesn't get very windy to often, i'm an hour north of Mille Lacs
