what spark plug??

I am going to change the plugs on my 1980 140 IL6. The manual recommends champion plugs, the plugs that are in the motor now are NGK's. Should I go with what the manual recommends or but NGK's back in. What's the quality difference? Thanks for your input.

NGK IS A GOOD PLUG. <br />NGK BUHW is the one for your motor

It seems to me that around the early 80s Merc recommended Champions inside the US, and NGKs outside. Can anyone confim?
