I changed plugs yesterday and started her up. Ran fine I launched today and it won't start. I get home and investigate to find I have no spark on all 4. What is a quick way to check Power pack and what else should I look for. Seloc manual not much help...Damn thing!

The Sealoc manual is usually not much help. A genuine factory manual is the only one to use. As an alternative, you will find some good ignition troubleshooting procedures at this website: cdielectronics.com. Those ignition components are not cheap, so some time spent on testing could save you some mis-spent $. Keep in mind, that engine starter must crank over at least 200-250 rpm's in order to fire the ignition system, so check for a weak battery.

Disconnect the Black/Yellow wire (kill circuit) from either the ignition switch or the powerpack... whichever is easier, and have spark plugs removed. If you now have proper spark that will jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame... a real SNAP, but no spark with that black/yellow wire connected, the ignition switch is faulty.

The spark plugs are removed in order to obtain the highest cranking speed available.... the ignition is self contained and must crank over at least 300 rpm in order for the stator to initialize the powerpack.

Note that it goes without saying that when that black/yellow wire is connected, the ignition switch must be in the ON position.

Problem solved!!!! power pack was it. I took a gamble on that being the problem and it was.

Did you actually trouble shoot that pack (black/yellow wire removal test), or simply replace the pack on a hunch?

I ruled out ign sw cuz it sputtered once. I figured it was time for a new pack anyway so I had nothing to loose
It worked. Whew!

well something blew the power pack,,,their are some simple test that can be done with a ohm meter....I had a coil go bad and didn't find it till I blew my power pack..it still might be worth going to the cdi web.site and check some of test they give.....if it blew one power pack it can happen again
