what tilt trim motor and pump to buy

I have a 1981 skeeter boat with a mercury 150 serial#5578763 my trim motor burned up . It was the old square type with the round metal bottom pump assy. I do not know what motor I need to buy or if I have to buy the whole unit together. any help would be appreciated. help I cannot go fishing thank you steve

You need to go to the BAM Marine site, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/mercruiser_parts.asp and see which pump your engine is useing there are 3 with the part number for us. Then we can help you find a rebuilt motor or pump

I checked out the mericruser site and it gave me a part number on the pump it was823653a9, there was a drawing on group 23. Im not sure but I think my motor is the eaton square motor serial # 826729a08 whatdo you think? The pump is okay but moyor is burned up. Do I have to buy both units together or not . one dealer said I had to buy the motor and the pump together . thank you steve

I think that arco rebuilders has a replacement motor for that pump or maybe ebay if your lucky
