what tilt/trim?

hello from soggy mass...how do you tell what tilt/trim will work for a 1969 115 jonny?ive seen some on ebay but not sure what will work.i know it needs to be rated for a 115 or bigger but im not sure if i need a 2 wire 3 wire a certain year or a certain mounting type i know they sell them omc but i was trying to save some$$$if anyone has any ideas or help i really appreciate it so does my back.ha ha ha thanks everone........<br /> ***1971 18'winner 1969 115 jonny***

I'm afraid you are in the same boat as I was with my 1972 100 HP Johnnie. They only offered a power tilt until about 1973. The early T&T are flakey at best and hard to get parts for. I converted my motor over to the later style by changing transom mounts, swivel bracket and all. It came out really neat. Total cost was about $350. You can also but an aftermarket T & T made by CMC and they are rated to 130 HP. I have one for my older 70 HP and it works great and was easier to install than an OEM unit.

thanks guys thats about what i figured...1st nite out fishing last nite didnt catch a fish but caught a good............................
