I had a 1987 17' Sea Ray Seville. I had it for 3 years or so....and it was a great boat. It had the Alpa 1 with the 3.0 Merc. I believe it was rated at 135hp and it worked fine for me, day trips with 4 people was ok.

It was very easy to maintain.

I really wanted to keep it, but I wanted a bigger boat even more.

Are you looking at the 19' model?

Yes, it is a 19.. says new floor.. has the V6 (175hp?) Alpha1 outdrive. How are the stringers built on this boat? I guess the issue with the last boat becomes the concern for the next.

I think 70's model Bayliners were good boats by the way.. the one I owned had been severely abused before I got it.. amazing it lasted for us like it did..

Anyway.. I read your posts in the SeaRay section.. so am interested in what to be concerned about..

Thanks

I don't give a damn what boat long as it floats, but MY next boat, whatever it is, will be a SALTWATER engineered OUTBOARD! Yep, I'm PS too...sick of making boat anchors out of salted out and crudded up OB powerheads, and I/O Manifolds.......

bluebayliner, have you looked an older Double Eagle? Lots of room, very seaworthy and were made I/O with 4cyl to V8. Should be a few in your area. Quite a few on Vancouver Island and coastal B.C.

Family friendly means mercruiser if going back to the 80's. Affordable parts available and most importantly, power trim was standard equipment unlike Volvo's of that era.
