I think the way I would tackle it would be to use a wood epoxy after drilling a hole down to it for a largish dowel and a couple of lag bolts to draw it tight. I'd draw it down close to being tightened back to the original shape, fill the dowel hole up with epoxy until it started to ooze out of that crack, insert the dowel, pound it down with a hammer and finish tightening the lag bolts. Let it sit overnight and then remove the lag bolts and run some more epoxy down the lag bolt holes.

Beyond that, you are going to have to replace the wood.

after the dowell.....sister another peice of wood to the cracked area....and glass them togeather......done
