Re: What to do next?
A lot of libraries these days have electronic books and you can read them online. I like the fact that you went ahead and took this matter into your own hands and decided to fix it yourself.
Just out of curiousity, why did you buy a longblock locally and not through Rapido? Noone was in the ballpark with Rapido's prices when I bought mine.. and they delivered to my doorstep.
I was kinda hoping they'd have online copies I haven't checked yet but I plan to this weekend.
As for why I went locally, there are several reasons. The local guy is, well, local. He's a respected mechanic in the local area. The engine was $750 cheaper and the guy has the means to remove and reinstall the engine in the boat. his house is on a slope next to the water and the bottom level of the back of his house is his work area. he has several garages, and the deck upstairs which hangs over the drivway is supported by a huge steel I-beam with a movable engine hoist hanging from it. He only charged me $100 to remove the engine and got me all the parts I needed at his cost.
I couldn't pass up a deal like that. In return I've recommended him to a number of my friends.
