I sent you a private message. Maybe it will help, maybe not.

Throw them out, antibiotics go bad quick. Smell a couple of the bottles and you'll see what I mean.

seems weird to have extra. I thought you were always supposed to finish your antibiotics.

You are unless, your caregiver determines they are not working, unfortunately, they leave it up to you to dispose of them, after my last surgery to repair a wound received in Iraq, version 1, I was given just about every antibiotic you could think of, less than 10% of them had effect, unfortunately I had to find a way to dispose of the other 90% of them. (See Previous message about options, as long as they are still in date)

I called the hospice that helped us a few years ago and confirmed it was Flying Doctors that we donated the unused medicines to. Unfortunately per the hospice, Flying Doctors are no longer legally allowed to collect and use these drugs to help the poor and sick in developing countries. I was referred to our county's local hazourdous waste program for proper disposal.

Several of the Emergency Room Docs I know, do missionary work in other countries. They help less fortunate people in poor communities. They bring lots of meds with them. You can try asking any doctor in a local ER, or any Doctor for that matter.

So much is wasted in the US. We could probably put an end to world hunger with what we throw away as a nation.

In so far as the meds, check with local hospitals. I've known of various programs in the past, for donating/disposing of unused meds at hospitals.

You're trying to do a very good thing, Heinz. Keep at it; but don't be too discouraged if it doesn't go as well as we'd like this time. If it doesn't, it doesn't mean that it won't in the future.
