That's an impossible question to answer at this point without knowing what size boat, what you plan on doing with it, what type engine dealers you will have in your boating area, etc.
While a Volvo may be a better drive (IMHO), if you don't have a dealer in your area, that could make getting repairs very difficult. If you are looking at a 17 or 18 ft boat for tubing & skiing, a straight inboard may be impossible to find.
