I'm putting a different engine on my boat that sits in the salt water most of the year. What should I put on the engine mount bolts to protect my transom for water damage?

i tell folks all the time .. silcone , caulk , ect. is a JOKE for stoppin' water / rot ..what i'm 'bout to say is hands down the best way... call around to hardware & HOBBY stores untill you find K&S TUBING . it comes in diff.factional sizes & a foot long..brass & alum... buy the size that your bolts can slide thru easily (with sloppe ). cut to length the thickness of transome shy a MM OR SO.. epoxy tubes in place.. this gives 100 % protection.. than you can use said JOKE stuff inside tube to take up the slack if you want.. this is for everybody .. specially for new boats / new motor installations .. believe me if it's not epoxy ,,, it ain't workin'
