Not sure of the proper anode to get. I have a 22 ft aluminum boat that had zinc on it since it was in salt water (previous owner). I went to get a new anode and found out that you should use magnesium in fresh water and you should not mix and match anode types. Being a novice I did not knwo about any type of anode other than Zinc.
What I am not sure about is if this is the case for aluminum boats or just for the outdrive on glass boats.
I will be 100% fresh water with an aluminum boat. Do I get a zinc anode or a magnesium anode for the boat? If Magnesium is the appropriate anode does that mean I should change the anodes on the outboard to magnesium as well?
