I've got a 1982 Galaxy Executive right now that I'm restoring. If I can ever get it running right I'm keeping it. If not, I'll get another bowrider, around 21 foot.
an awesome one and i love her. no i really do love her. do you guys talk to your boats when your working on them? tell them that if you love them and treat them nice and respectful that will they please keep you and your family safe? i do and don't know if im nuts or not. this is my first boat and im new to boating as well. but last summer my friend took me out and i got bit hard by the boating bug. this summer i picked up a 95 Regal 6.8 Ventura. 23' cuddy with a I/O merc 5.7 alpha 1 gen 2. im 43 yrs old and had a mild heart attack last year. buying a boat and stopping working weekends was by far the best decision i ever made in my life. every time i get on the water i feel i belong there. its weird. i have a slip for her so i get to sleep on her sometimes. the most peaceful sleep i ever got rocking back and forth. my only way to describe the feeling is maybe its like it was in the womb before birth. probably the safest place a human will ever be in.
The two of us can use it comfortably for a couple of nights. We love the weekend raft-ups with our Power Squadron buds.
End of July we'll be taking a 5-hour "voyage" to the north fork of L.I., convoying with a group of the same people. It'll be our first major trip, if you want to call it that. We'll live aboard for 5 days.
Luckily, the marina we'll be staying at has a full range of services including toilet and shower facitilities.
