Hello all,
In preparing for the bedding of the stringers, It was suggested to me to use PL. So I went to my local hardware store to get some. To my surprise there are about a dozen types. Anything from bathtub surround, to concrete crack repair, to extreme. What do you all recommend? Any how does PL compare to Liquid Nails. I've used LN in various jobs around the house and am very impressed with it.

Thanks,
Tom

You can use PL, and I used to recommend it, but...No longer. It takes a minimum of 72 hours for it to fully cure and stop outgassing. Poly resin does NOT like to stick to it and it's just not worth the hassle. I use thickened resin, what we call Peanut Butter (PB) to bed the stringers and form the fillets. It'll set up in 30 minutes and you can get things done sooooo much faster. But... If you wanna use the PL Liquid Nails will be just fine to use!!! Just make sure to wait 3 days and try not to make to much of a mess cuz like I said the Resin doesn't like sticking to it.;)

Yep, I used to as well........ Some can afford the necessary 3 day wait, but if you don't HAVE to wait, why wait? You could bed w/ PB before lunch and be running tabbing after........
