A trip down memory lane. It was in 73, and the boat was a blue and white 1966, 14' "Swiss 6" with a 45 Chrysler. The Chrysler ran well for the 2 years I owned it. but it did not have a alternator. It would push the little boat 30mph, and we would ski with it all the time.

Re: What was your first boat.

Guess i was about 12... First boat was a 12' aluminum v that i found at a pawn shop.. If i remember right, i gave $100 bucks for it.. Mowed a bunch of grass that summer.. :D

After fooling with an old 4hp rude that we could never get to run right, I took the rest of my grass mowing $$, and with my dear ol' Pop's help, got hold of a brand spankin new 5hp gamefisher... :D

One Christmas, I scored a trailer, which I think my Pop wanted more than I... He was getting pretty sick of loading that boat on top of the van.. :D Hey, I helped!!

Later on I saved up some more grass mowing $$ and bought a Shakespere trollin motor,a battery, a Uniden depth finder (flasher), and some camoflage seats to match the ultra high tech k-mart spray can camo paint job and the el-cheapo green outdoor carpet..... :D

Few years later a friend wanted to buy the boat to fish some of the small ponds around here.. After some horse trading, I became the owner of a 14footer with a 10hp Johnson... Not long after the trade, I believe my friends son sold the motor and sunk the boat.. :(

First boat was a '74 15ft Seastar Tri-Hull with a 50HP Evinrude. Learned how to ski and fish on that boat and have been hooked on boating ever since.

My first boat was a 16' "Fabuglas Tempest" circa 1988. Although is looked like a million other bowriders...

- I never saw another one

- I never heard of anyone who had one

- No one I talked to ever heard of it.

I can't be the only person who bought one of these (used).

Mine was a 2003 Ranger 175VS with a 115hp merc. I won it off of a local radio station.

Too much traveling to get to freshwater here on the peninsula. Saltwater is 2min away.

When I had my kid this year I sold it and bought the Sea Ray which is a good family boat, 51in big screen tv a new generator and still had about 2grand left over. The generator is for those hurricanes that hit here.

Last hurricanes spawned Cassidy!

My daughter. ;) :D

Re: What was your first boat.

When I was born my dad had a early 1980's 27' Formula with twin screws, my first few years of boating where on that boat, until he sold it. I enjoyed riding around in that boat as a little kid.

The first boat I ever called my own was a 1975 Boston Whaler Sport-11. Bought it with a 1987 8hp Mercury on it and then repowered with a 15hp Merc. Still have it.

My first "boat" was a 1977 Chevy Malibu Classic. Man that thing was a hog....My first real boat was the 63 17 foot Pacific Mariner I sold a few years ago. I still see it, it was sold again and it has a wakeboard tower on it. Sort of bizarre looking but I guess it works....

First boat was a 13.5 foot peterbourough wood strip boat with a 5 hp 1954 Johnson. First boat I built was a Mini Max hydroplane. Put a 1957 Merc Mark 20 on it wow was it fast. Both boats have since rotted away, the Merc was sold to a guy at work who promptly fried it cause he did not replace the impeller like I TOLD HIM TO!!!!

Re: What was your first boat.

well, the first boat that had my name on the title was,,,, yikes, i hate to say it here on a boat site, but it was a 95 kawi sts jet ski. but i'm sure we all know that jet ski's are classified as class A inboards. :D as for what we all call boats here, it is the tri-sonic listed below. first boat i was introduced to was grandads 14' wood larson. with oars and tied to the dock so i wouldn't go to far as i was only about old enough to walk, lol. later i moved up to the same boat with what we in the family all affectionatly called the jonny popper, a 3.6 elgin. the larson made the flower pot scean in the end and jonny popper was traded off for a bigger outboard later on. i was on my way to a lifetime of loving boats of all kinds.

It was a 1966 15' Glasspar with a 35 HP Johnson on it. Great little boat til the wife ran it aground and tore the engine from the transom. The next day I went and bought a 1979 19' Hammond w/235 Evinrude. The poor old Glasspar still sits out in the backyard of the shop.

I was introduced to boats in my dad's 1965 16' Searay with a 140cu in Mercruiser I/O. I learned about boating in a 1962 Boston Whaler 13' with a 25hp Evinrude. My dad sold that boat last year for more than he paid for it...23 years later!

First boat was when I was young. An aluminum boat with some kind of o/b.
The first boat I remember was a 12ft runabout with a 40hp Johnson o/b.
That thing could go real real real fast. I think the max HP was 20hp and I had a 40hp on it.
What can I say....I learned alot from that. :D

Re: What was your first boat.

When I was about 10 I bought a home made hydroplane for not much money. No motor or trailer and I never put a motor on it. I put oarlocks on it and rowed it around. Being a wooden boat, it leaked. So I took it apart to seal all the joints before reassembling it again. Never got around to the reassembly part.

First one was a 1984 Bomber with a 40HP Mercury that my wife saw at a garage sale. Older folks had it, and really took care of it. Had to sell it 15 years ago for a down payment on a new house. House was more important at that time!!!

my first boat is a 12' 1960 Montgomery Wards Seaking with a 1956 Evinrude sportwin 10. Kinda rough but got it from a guy who had just lost his job so I got it at a decent price considdering it came ready to fish. boat motor trailer battery trolling motor paddles seats all the safty gear exta oil gear lube and 5 gallons of gas all for $650. Only thing it didnt come with is fish! Now that the weather has turned I got her stripped down so I can take care of the minor problems mostly cosmetic! http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dd_mopowar/my_photosmore pics to be add as I go, dont hesitate to give me pointers or ideas!
