If I had a 26gph burning beast, it would be a problem, but the old 85hp johnson on 12 gallons goes a long way in the bay (Tampa Bay), it means that instead on $18 is $36 for a weekend of fun and fishing. The bottom line is I remember pumping gas as a teen at $1.39 gal 15 years ago in CT, just till pretty recent it was $1.39 in Florida, if we think about how much home, taxes, cars Ect. have gone up we all new one day it would happen. I remeber in 1989 gas was 1.39, Lincoln Town Car loaded 19,000, how much is a new Town Car today, more than 38,000 loaded. <br /><br />What the real problem will be is the effects it will have on everything, those Semi Trucks cruising down the highway don't run on Solar Power, neither does them freighters from China (were it seams that everything in Walmart is made), if transportation in genaral has a 200% increase in operatioing costs, we will have an increase in just about everything we purchase.<br /><br />As far as the politics go, This is what I think might happen. Gas will surge, then the President steps in, gas comes down again, get back 10-15% support, in october they catch Bin Laden, President sweeps election. We will see.
