Re: What would be a cool color to paint my flywheel

I took my starter apart, cleaned it, and replaced the brushes. I took some good quality (not $.99 walmart) enamel, and painted the starter motor frame (body) black. I painted the end bells red, also the 4 screws that hold on the feild coils I painted red. Looks good

By the way, My Mark 55E starter had four brushes, not two. Bobb Grubbs told me that it was not a mercury starter (everything else being exactly the same, except the brushes), there was nothing he could do for me in the way of brushes, and he pretty much blew me off. I took the starter to a local motor shop that messes with delco-remy, they told me that it was uncommon but it was a mercury starter (the double brushes gave it more torque) and he sold me 4 brushes. It works OK now. Go figure? I hold no grudge, I recently placed another order with Grubb's.

How about the swirl design like that on the fwd accessory housing of jet engines.

swirl design? so the flywheel will have a sort of "screwing" or "twisting" look?

Didn't hurt the oven but the odor hung around for a week or so.
I wash parts in the sink all the time. In fact, I washed a bubble-back this afternoon. Just gotta be sure I clean up the mess before she sees it.

c/6

Hooty

I wore out a pot scrubber cleaning out cylinders after a boring job. She's still trying to figure that out.

c/6

Hooty
