The propeller choice for my 20 feet DC(2800lbs incl Yamaha 200HPDI) has come down to two propellers, either Mirage Plus 14 3/4x21 or Powertech PTC series 14.25x21, I would like to hear which one you would prefer and why.

Thanks,
Mattias

Hmm.. i've searched the forums and many prefer the Turbo props, how do you think they would perform on my boat? Considering power/weight ratio and v-shaped hull?

Hi,

I do not know if You can read Swedish, but since You are from Finland you maybe can. There is a so called "Körfakta" that Yamaha Scandinavia writes and all Yamarin boats are listed in that. There You can read (in Körfakta 2002) for example about Your boat, Yamarin 6110, and 200 hp HPDI and what results they have achived with the prop they used.
Yamaha props are in general rather good but expensive. In the testbook they used 13 3/4 x 21"-M (SS) Yamaha prop with Yamaha 200 hp HPDI. Note sure if they used a Yamaha Black Steel or Pro Series, or any other of the Yamaha prop models. The Yamaha Pro series is supposed to be rather good.
I have a Yamarin boat myself, 5820 with F115. I would very much like to have some larger boat like 6110 or 6240 but then I need to have a new drivers licence (E) to be able to trailer that extra weight since I prefer to trailer the boat.
Link to PDF file

Tack för pdf-filen! Svenska är mitt modersmål.
Thanks for the pdf, swedish is my mother tongue. I wonder why they used 13" prop, the boat manufacturer recommends a ballistic 14" as a SS prop, i bet they haven't tested other SS prop brands.
