Hey all,
Little fanciful thinking here.... I grew up with a 74 sea ray SRV200...
Probably the best boat our family ever owned...
In my research to find a few pictures of one (for another post), I found one for sale in Indiana... I cant seem to get this boat out of my head...
http://www.boatland.com/1974%20Sea%20Ray%20200CB.htm
Its at a used boat dealer, and I am waiting to hear back from them on some more information on it, including a full history, along with detailed pictures of engine, interior, dash, outdrive, etc. The outside pic the boat looks immaculate...
The dealer had it listed for 5995, then dropped it 2k down to 3995...
NADA on it is a whopping 1300 bucks... (which I know sometimes doesnt mean a hill of beans).
Yes I know its 35 years old... but its still very servicable, and still a really sharp looking boat, and would be perfect for me, the mrs, and my son to go out in and enjoy.
I know I dont have a lot of info on it yet, but something tells me I reallly really want this boat...
If I get back favorable information from the dealer (engine info/compression, will they sea trial, etc.) and the pictures all look good I may make the drive up there to check it out... (then i can check the deck, stringers, look for rot, and thoroughly inspect the engine)...
That being said,
1. if the boat were in say "turn key" shape, and didnt need any major work, what would you offer for it?
2. What would you offer if it was say garage kept and in mint condition?
3. finally what would you offer if it needed a complete rebuild?
Just looking for some price ranges, and ideas... it would be one helluva drive from FL to go look at it... so would like to see if its in the cards before I did.
I am thinking if its in turn key shape, i would offer them 2.5k for it... but I know thats a bit low... well above NADA, but well below what they are asking...
Thoughts?
