hey all, brand new to this forum and had a request... I purchased a 74 caravelle tri hull boat a while back and completly restored the boat its like 15 foot in length and about 4.5-5 foot beam...brand new sub-floor, wireing, battery, made a new casting deck, all new carpet, new and more seats, pretty much the works. also repainted the top part of the boat. havent painted the bottom portion of the boat yet..my question was wanted to know what you all would pay if i was to sell the boat. im not sure at all what the boat would be worth now that its redone..would come with trailer, boat and a 1974 65 HP mercury outboard..wanted to know what yall would pay wit the boat as is, and also with the rest of the boat painted, like a black or navy color..thanks for the help!!!

Re: What would you pay?

I would not touch a trihull with a 10 foot pole.
They are nice for small lakes but on Lake Ontario they are mostly a liability

$2000 at the most, and only because the hull was done. And only with a sea trial/motor inspection. If the motor wasn't flawless, then $1500

Re: What would you pay?

Your boat is basically set up like a bass boat with the casting decks you have installed. Near me you can find ok bass boats $2000 to $3000 price range. That is for a boat that came that way from the manufacturer. Yours would have to be priced less than that. Having said that, in my opinion, any boat that has a good running motor and decent hull should be worth at least $1000. Yours looks to be in nice shape, so I would guess around $1500 to $2000 is what you may be able to get around me in the peak of the selling season. I am located in Illinois. Tri-hulls aren't real popular so that will hurt you as far as potential buyers.

I'm an aluminum boat guy so you couldn't give it to me ;)

But I think as long as all the rebuilding was done well and the motor is good fair market value will be around $1,200

BTW- where are you located? This can widely change the value.

Re: What would you pay?

It would depend a few things. First, How well does the motor run. It would require a test ride. Not only how well does it run, but how does it handle after your modifications. Next, how useful are the modifications, and how good is the work. The last item is what can I get a similar boat for in the area. Here, boats are readily available. All that said. $1200.00 - $1500.00 Max.

I'm acutually surprised after your earlier "sharp" response to someone giving his opinion that anyone is trying to help you out. Goes to show how good the people are around here and that maybe you don't belong. As for my opinion 1500 max...i hate tri hulls...one should have pry done some more looking into the desire for such a boat before sinking time and money into it if you were just looking to dump it after you were done...but that's just IMP.
