What year 85hp Force do I have?

Yes, I know there are a million of these posts already, but nowhere have I found on the motor the serial number. The bill of sale that was given to me said the Motor had a serial number of 0022F49, and the Block serial number is M618080. The boat itself is 1990, but is there a way to tell from those numbers what the year of the motor might be? I am wanting to replace the impeller but want to make sure I get the right one.

I am not sure if these numbers are good at all. I cannot find a plate anywhere to get the true numbers. Any info is appreciated.

... ya there should be a dog tag just inside the o/b on the collar with all the info.

Ok, I posted some pics. While I was getting photo happy I did fine a number on the block 498167 is this anything ?? Thanks!!
oh, and the second photo is of where I believe the tag USED to be!

Looks like a 1989.The motors were all basically the same the paint and decals were the main difference,J

Ok, here are some pics of the motor cover. I hope this will help determine the year. The boat it is on is 1990. I am wanting to replace the impeller and want to make sure I get the right one. Aren't most of these year models the same impeller?

I looked up I-BOATS impellers and is shows the same impeller for
all 85 HP engines.
They don't show a 1990 85 HP engine.
Mercruiser.com has schematics of engines and you could determine
what your part number would be from there.
Also, Crowley Marine website.

If you deal with a Merc dealer they might try to sell you the wrong impeller.They try to sell the impeller for the Merc/Mercruiser motors.It looks just like it only bigger.Take the old one with you when you go shopping.J

I removed the old impeller and it is a 3017. The housing has a top and bottom gasket. The one that is supposed to fit an '89 model is the 3030. The guy that I went to for parts asked if someone had put a newer lower unit on the motor. Good question! Now I don't know what I've got! lol
