What year are these old Mercury engines?

A friend wants to sell 2 Mercury engines, but doesn't know how old they are or how much they are worth.<br />Model KF7 Super 10 Serial number 367387<br />Model KF5 Super 5 Serial number 350531<br /><br />Both have great compression, but have not been started recently. Any help would be appreciated.

Late 40's early 50's<br /><br />As little as $50 and not much more than $200-$300 complete and running.<br /><br />You'll see them on ebay from time to time.

The KF7 is 1949-50, the KF5 is 49-52. The KF5 is valued at $25 to $150, and the KF7 from $40 to $310...approximate range of values from Peter Hunn's Old Outboard Book. Basically, value is in the eye of the beholder/buyer. Whatever they're will to pay on that particular day.
