I have a Johnson 90 V4 VRO with the no J90TLCDC J7138914. I am having trouble with the trim motor and not sure what i have.

it has been sitting for two years and i have been able to get it going and have fixed some on my own, but the trim will not pick up nor will ti go down . the motor dose seem to be running and it is getting oil to the bottom line but no pressure.

If not already there, loosen the manual tilt/trim release valve 2 full turns (no more), then raise the engine to its full tilt position. Fill the reservoir to overflowing (the unit is delf bleeding). Tighten the release valve shut.

If the unit still does not operate, I'd suspect an air lock under the oil pump. To correct, apply 7 to 12 psi (pressurized air) to the reservoir. DO NOT over pressurize!

This should correct the air lock problem if it exists. Let us know what you find.

thanks i will try that tomorrow and will post my findings. PS: I build new BIG SHIPS in Maine and this is all new to me.
