There is nothing else on the hull? Just that number just a tip you can use kbb or Nada as guilds to help you find the year just look up make and length of boat and if you know the model that's even better. I had the same problem with mine it is a sylvan though

Nothing is free.
Don't do anything or spend any money till you get a title.

Any registration card or numbers on the bow?

i checked the regisration tag with washington dol they havn't a clue, i think the engine is a 327 as the oil fill is in the front and the cylinder heads casting no's come close as possible to a 327 from about 63 i found a round plate that is a part of the out drive it has a no.382160 185-200 hp omc i got the heads off the engine and it is full of rust and still won't turn over the motor is grey and the outdrive is white . it has a mallory points dist and a single barrel carb and no seats.

By your description the engine is shot and needs to be replaced, the outdrive needs to be rebuilt or replaced, no seats, and I can only imagine what decrepit shape the rest of the boat is in. This is not a free boat, it is a very expensive boat. If the boat is even salvageable it will cost you many many thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of work. The person giving you the boat is the winner here. Rather than he paying to have it hauled away it will be you who bares the expense. Nobody wants this hulk, that is why they keep giving it away. I'm not trying to be harsh here but my 2 cents of advice is give the boat back if you can.

White outdrive usually means OMC - which makes sense by your heads. OMC was making stern drives as early as '62, but the first 200HP didn't come out until '66 (300 Buick) and the first 185 didn't make it out until '67 (283 Chevy). Generally on the OMCs you can get the system ID off a metal tag off the rear motor mount - but the 1828064 doesn't make sense to the OMC. Number would be more like "TU-15S."

Start by posting some photos if you can. If the engine is all locked up and the drive is a mess, there's a good chance we'll start telling you to bail out. OMC is long gone, and the Stringers are pretty obsolete - think "cantankerous ole' antique." I like them, but if you've got a complete rehab on your hands I generally advise against trying to revive the OMC.
