what year is my 100hp Johnson?

MODEL SJ100WTPLB<br />SERIAL R 7490670<br /><br />Is this a comercial engine? The guy who sold it to me said to be from the year 1987 but I went to buy a part for the engine and they told me to recheck the year of the engine. Please help!

The OMC model year guide shows 1987, but I cant match a parts book to that number.

The parts books have model numbers, you match the model number of engine and parts book to get correct part. I looked at 4 years before and after 1987, cannot find this number. The model number is listed in OMC model year guide, printed 1988. Look on round plug top of block for model number. Is engine VRO, how many wires on VRO pump harness, how many power packs, 4 cylinders, does carbs have plate on top of carb body with 4/5 screws?

The engine is a V4 with 2 power-packs, no VRO, it says on engine cover Sea-Horse. Carbs have on top plate 4 flathead screws. The model and serial #'s on the engine bracket are the same of the engine block.

Can not find parts book that matches those numbers. I find model SJ100WTPLA in 1990 book. What parts do you need?

Look for numbers on both powerpacks and rectifier. May be some numbers on carbuator on a sticker. post these numbers and I will keep searching for year.

Power packs and rectifier dont say anything. Clanton, if u tell me ur e-mail I can send u some photos of the engine, maybe that will help.
