We just purchased a boat and a Johnson Seahorse motor came with it. We have no idea what year it is and would like a little info please. The model # is DT 89 and the serial # is 3204072.

DT 89 ??

DT 39 would be a 1939 5 hp

Your right the number is 39. We haven't tried to start it yet the guy said it ran 2 years ago when he put it away.

I guess a 1939 model will require a 20:1 fuel mix but if anyone says even oilier so be it.
