what year is my Mariner!

I cant get a year lock on my mariner 80 hp inline 4, been told it is a 1985 but i cant find a 80 hp made in that year..serial #A8053922, any help please?.<br /><br />Thank you.

Are you sure thats the serial no? Too many digits.

just checked thats is the number on the motor and also its in the manual i have here.
