what year is my mariner

I have a 40BM, I was wondering what year it is. I don't want to have someone tell me what year it is, I want someone to tell me how to find that info on my own. I have looked at several posts on here that are similar where you just tell them the year, well I want to know where to find it myself. And whatever the marinshopen site is, It does not work well for me.

Yes, but I don't think it will help, I have some build sheets from Mercury Marine.
