what year is my merc?

it is a 135 black max the serial number is A924254.This motor came on a 18 ft. smokercraft s.n.smk86365f191.Can somebody tell me the year of either of these.

Motor is 1986<br /><br />Typically the last 2 digits of the HIN relate to the year, thus boat may be a 1991 Smokercraft.<br /><br />In your case, it would make more sense if the first 2 digits represented the year to match the motor.

thanx for the info couldn't buy bottom end insurance withouut knowing the year.
