What Year Is My Motor

Afriend of mine just gave me an older Evinrude motor. The numbers on the motor are 5524R-51525. Can you tell me what year it is and are there still parts for it and where can i get a service manual. This motor has been sitting outside for a couple of years.

That's a 1962 5.5, Buckman.

Fuel mix is 24:1
Spark plugs are Champion J4C, gapped at .030"
Set points at .020"

Great li'l engine. Treat her well and she will outlive your children.
