Can anyone tell me what year my Chrysler motor is? The model # is 4542. It's a 45 HP. I've attached some photo's. I need to know so I can get a carb kit. Also in the photo of the carb, it appears that the slow speed needle is missing, is this right?

Thanks.

Motor is 1968. Cant tell from the photo. When you say slow speed jet are you talking about the idle mixture screw?

Thanks. One question down.
Yeah, my johnson Carb has a slow speed needle just above the mouth of the carb. This carb has the hole, but no needle.
Any idea where I can get a carb kit for this?

Thanks!

Re: What year is my Motor?

Generic kit is a sierra 18 -7037. NAPA sells them. Kit will come with a new spring for the idle mixture screw a new seat, needle valve and some gaskets and a welsh plug. This is a the most common kit for that chrysler. There is no real low speed jet more of a channel that gas goes through and is metered by the mixture adjust screw. That screw is located front top above the choke on the carb. It is a slotted screw resessed into the carb.
