i wanted to know if you guys could help me find out what year my johnson 40hp outboard is.
the model # is vj4otleia the searl # is G 02980637

I think that is a 1991 model, Mario. Try retyping the Model number as: VJ40TLEIA. That reveals it as a Johnson 40HP, with PT&T, Long shaft, year EI (91), mfg run A.
