What year is my Starcraft?

I just picked up a 16' Starcraft Comet hull for free. Nice shape. Just needs and interior and motor. I just don't know what year it is. The serial number is 63-6330-W. Is it a 1963? Thanks.

Howdy Great and welcome to iboats ( and the Starcraft club once we get pics of the boat ). Yes it is a 63 by the serial number . Feel free to post up some pics of her theres alot of us Starcrafters around here . I will see what I cn do to find some pics of what she looked like new for you.

Thats my Boat! Now if I could only get it to look that good. She needs a whole interior, windshield and a motor, but the hull is solid. I'll get some pictures up soon. Thanks!

LOL No problem . I am in the middle of redoing my Starcraft . Just got done getting the bottom paint on her today almost time to flip her back over and onto the trailer . Yep Andy she is fiberglass but she is still a Starcraft . They actually made quite a few glass models as well as our Tin Cans .

Here she is. I've got some work to do. I'm picking up the motor, controls and steering cables tomorrow. 1970 40hp Merc. Thinking about doing two seats in front (maybe back to backs) and a bench in the back. Anybody know the capacity specs for this, I can't find them on the boat anywhere. Also, if anyone has any tips or suggestions, feel free. I've been doing aluminum bass mods for a while as a side business but this is my first fiberglass besides doing one easy floor job in a 20' Bayliner.

Thats a pretty old Rude there . I have a classic Merc I am planning to redo over the summer .

I accidentally posted that one. It was a '53 Super Fastwin 15 I finished. I also have a 25 Johnson Seahorse and a 30 Ev Big Twin Electric I'm working on.

OK put the Rude pic back up we like old motors here I got guys droolin over my 1959 Mercury Mark 58A . Also before Bob comes in here and slshes all your pics shrink em to 480X640 thats the standard forum size . I do em at 75% on photo bucket seems to be the right size..

I can get you all the specs but they are aactually on the page I posted earlier just copy it to your puter and enlarge it . They are in the writing you cant make out on the page right now .

Looks like you did a great job on her now get to work on that Starcraft we have a get together being planned in Virginia in 10 months so you need to have her done and ready by then .

Oh, it will be, if you have about an extra 2 grand layin' around for me. Ha Ha. I'm hoping to have it done by next spring so we'll see what happens!

LOL have you seen my boat yet . I have to have it done in time for the gathering next june plus do a frame off on a 63 Ford F100 before next summer for a get together with that club in Iowa . I am going to be a broke busy dude this winter .

Starcraft also made a version of that boat you have there for Montgomery Wards, they were sold as Sea King boats. I just looked at one not too far from here. They were great boats, well built and light. The one I looked at needed a new deck and a transom job but the hull was clean otherwise.
