Thanks for the info

Johnsons and Evinrude's are to the best of my knowledge almost identical its almost like a Chevy GMC thing. Its a shame that Evinrude outboards went out of business this year

Pretty much, though things like the cowls and the associated mounting brackets are different. I have a '54 Johnson 10Hp, a '56 Johnson 15Hp, and a '58 Evinrude 10Hp. The cowls on the Johnsons flip open from the back, while the one on the Evinrude flips open from the side.

That said, parts often cross between brands, years, and motor sizes. When I bought the Evinrude at a garage sale about three years ago, the bracket that holds the steering arm was broken. I replaced it with one I found on eBay, from a 5Hp Johnson, of a different year. (See photo)

BTW, the equivalent Johnson would be the FD-11, and the parts diagram for that Johnson on that questionable website clearly shows the filter bowl on the "Powerhead" page. So, I'd say it was stock.

Thank you so much, it is very interesting how many parts are interchangeable.
