I'm still not sure what year this 40hp Evinrude O/B is. I tried to look it up on OMC but the closest match i could find was (40tece-40telce (1989) but the model plate on my motor says te40elcec with a serial # of 02269583... i'm pretty sure it's an 89' but would like not to look stupid when asked the year not to mention it helps getting parts for your motor if you know the year make and model. unless of course you feel like draging the damn thing around from shop to shop lol.....thanks in advance with another thank you upon completion

It is a 1989 Model. Try not to tie in to an old thread. Start a new one, as it gets a little confusing. The "CE" in the model number is the key to the year.
