On the hood it has... <br />A Black top that curves down.<br />Silver Bottom<br />It has "65 Spirit" written in Black, on the silver part.<br />It has a Yellow and Orange stripe that goes up and across the top.<br /><br />On the transom Bracket is a Tag that says<br /> <br />Spirit Outboard Motor. Spirit Marine Division Artic Enterprises Inc. <br /><br />6501 <br />F-10819

Hi,<br />In general, for Suzuki serial number is like this:<br /><br />6501 F-10819 <br /><br /><br />a) For newer Suzuki that first digit in second part if the serial nr (like "1" in a number like 11042) is normally the year it was made, 1981, 1991 etc.<br /><br />b) But between 1975 and 1979 the year is determined by "year-letter" before the engine number this way:<br />A=1975, B=1976, C=1977, D=1978, F=1979 (notice there was no "E" letter)<br /><br />So your engine is made 1979 since it has "F" in serial nr.<br /><br />If you need to look at parts list for Your Suzuki DT65 1979 it is available at brownspoint.com (Parts Look-Up) and it is probably one of the most complete Suzuki Online store in internet also.<br /><br /><br />/Bo
