Hi Toni
Your motor is a 1974 20hp.
You could try oiling the recoil starter.
You might also remove the plugs and give it a spin just to be sure nothing is binding.Good luck have fun.

Hello Tony
The recoil starter is the mechanism that rewinds your starter rope. I belive yours sits on top of your engine. Some times they can get a little sticky. I like the public library for research. You may not find imfo to your specific model. But there is alot of general imfo to get you started.

it aint the actual rope that is hard to pull
its the big round thing on the top that it is trying to turn which is making it hard

my uncle told me it was because of the compression
is there a way to lower the compression ?

Hi Jabboo, Pick up the Clymers manual, it covers Chrysler ob's 3.5 to 140 hp and 1966 to 1984. The manual # is Clymers #B750. It's the best money you'll ever spend if you stay with boating. Have a good one. Hal
