What year merc?

I've got a 25 hp 2 cyl. Merc outboard and I've been trying to figure out the year for a while. The serial # is A14775. I believe that it is a 1986 model..... I guess I just want to double check and make sure of it. Thanks.

Probably the second digit.
But all the '86's started with "A".

U.S. models began in 1985 and carried through to 1986. Canadian models began in 1986 and carried through to 1990.
