I am thinking about buying this motor. It is a 70 hp johnson/evinrude. It does not have pt&t. Runs great. Just have no idea what year model it is. Model # is 70473m. Serial # is j0013276
Is it a reliable motor? I did notice some sticky green stuff that had oozed down on the side of the motor from the stator. What is that an indication of? Overcharging? is that a normal occurance? Or is it something to be concerned about? It runs like a top and has 3 new coils, new cdi, and plugs. Has 120psi on all 3 cylinders. Also can I put trim and tilt off of newer model on it?
