evinrude introduced the E-Tech in feb. 2003 check out this website http://evinrude100years.com/.

The first E-TECs were introduced in 2003 as a previous post explained.

The smallest at that time was a 40hp model through 2008.

For 2009, they are coming out with a 25 and 30hp size in both tiller and a remote models.
