I dont have a spare water tube but would be interested in the dimension to the top of the drive shaft.

Will try to locate the water tube ,but the lower unit was disassembled back in 1993 , might be MIA <br /><br />

Hopefully Droll will post back with the results of the lower unit he got on ebay.

I will do that , but it might take some time for it to arrive . <br /><br />Until my LU arrives I got some extra questions for you .<br />Head gasket ...are they still avalieble ?? or can I use a gasket from a newer Chrysler engine .<br />Got some parts manuals on it's way from the US , but I am still asking here <br />Got a picture below <br />

I would assume a newer 30 HP head gasket would work. Part number 27-F513529 (mercury part number) runs about 35 dollars american. Go to mercury express parts and see if it looks like it will work.<br /><br />Good Luck

As promised , here are the results <br />

<br /> <br />Only minor differences ,looks like Chrysler made some adjustments to some of the draining holes .<br /><br />It needs some cosmetic work and a new propshaft seal, not to bad for it's age ( 40+ years )<br />Don't think the LU have bean used in salt water, there is NO corrosion , removed the pump housing for inspection ..... NO problem .<br />Will inspect the internals before putting it to work, but it looks promising<br /><br />Arne Kjetil
