What year????

My brother just gave me a merc. motor. It is a 9.8 hp and has the number 110 on the front of it. Inside the hood there are numbers 2123-3953-2 does this tell any of you guys anything about this motor? If not where do I find the numbers needed to figure out the age of this puppy?

110 (11,0) 2098352 - 2290662 1967 2 cyl ????<br /><br />Look on the transom bracket to verify the nimber or look on the powerhead for a stamped number.

Ok Im not the brightest bulb in the lamp when it comes to working on motors so I hope this is what your looking for. I found these numbers "stamped" on the engine.....Ser. 341-4883 and on the front this # was stamped 941-4899<br />Im sorry but when you say tranom braket im a bit lost I may be wrong( it would not be the first time) but this motor looks more like an 80's model to me.

9,8 6620196 - 1985 2 cyl Because the next set of numbers are:<br /><br />9,8 9418306 - 9445985 1985 <br /><br />The transom bracket is where the motor rests(attaches) on the boat.

Thanx Rickdb1boat........ Im hopeing she runs good or at least if she doesnt I will be able to find parts. Being an 85' makes me feel better than a 67' for that reason alone.
