Howdy flyfisher.

Your engine is a 1959.

Use a 24:1 fuel mix. Set points at .020 and plugs at .030.

Good luck. :)

Re: What Yr. Am I?

Thanks JB, Hopefully it is worth the 100 bucks I paid for it  It fired when I gave it a shot of ether in one cylinder. I'm guessing right now but it looks like the plugs are gapped too wide. This old toolmakers eyes ain't what they used to be. I haven't looked at the points yet. Any ideas for flushing the old gas/varnish out of the carb and lines?

Hi, FlyFisher.

You need a manual. We can help you use it, but we can't substitute for it.

Old OMC manuals, by the way, will tell you to gap the plugs at .040. They changed that later.

Good luck. :)

recommend some gas and a little thumb pressure to clean the bowl. Use carb cleaner only sparingly, if at all (helps in cleaning a dirty jet). Once the carb is clean, see if you can fire it up and run some clean gas/oil through the system.

Good luck -- sounds like a nice little engine.
