what yr/gas oil mix?

A friend of mine just got a Johnson super seahorse 33hp modle rx13b<br />serial j2509343.<br />I would like to know what year and what the gas and oil mixture is. <br />Also we put it in what and started right up no pee. Drop lower unit impeller looks good the small key that holds the impeller in place is good. Shaft is turing impeller. I hooked water hose up to water tube and turned it on. water is making its way through the motor and out the pee hole. Put lowe unit back on. No pee. thanks for all the help.

1965 33hp Johnson..... Mixture is 50/1. There is no water tell tale outlet. Water should exit (shoot out) the exxhaust relief hole halfway down the exhaust housing. Note that the water level must be approximately two inches above the water pump area (when in a tank/barrel) in order for the pump to operate as it should.

yes but the water is not exiting the exhaust hole and the impeller looks good when i run the hose up the copper pipe water comes out but when i put lower unit back on no water is comin out the exaust hole

Are you operating in enough water? (EDIT: I guess Joe asked the same question) The water pump must be completely submerged on startup or it won't prime. If that turns up nothing, check the water pump intake for clogs. It runs down beneath the w/p base, across that thin sheet metal cover just above the anti-ventilation (cavitation) plate, then down just behind the propeller into the intake on the forward side of the exhaust fin.
