what yr/hp is this Johnson

I bought a boat on friday and it came with this old johnson it doesn't run but i would like to try fixing it up.. i was told it was a 79 25 hp johnson but with the info i can find i think it is a 67' 20 hp... the model# is FD-21R and the serial # is J2797303... does anyone have any info or know where I can get a manual or any info on this?

FD-21R sounds like a 1959. Do you have a photo?

It is a 1967 20 HP Johnson. Below is a good site...

Yep, 1967 20hp. Fuel mix is 50:1 with TC-W3 oil. 80-90 gear oil in lower unit. A fine motor if in good condition. Factory parts books and shop manuals at outboardbooks.com

can I ask a question too ?
I have just bought an 6 evinrude, to replace my old british seagull and I'm looking, like every body, for the year or manual. I look every where and I only find a place that say it is from 1975.
the serila number is 65B67R B 6506.

the site where i find 1975 have juste listed the beginnig of the serial (65B67R) What mean the other part? And why this serial doesn't appear in all the web site with serials?

And a last question what kind of manual can I buy? with drawing, parts and instructions?

65b67R is model # 6506 is serial # outboardbooks.com for english version, do not know of french translation.

i find nowhere info about that.

for the no french book, it's not important, I Have repaired two british seagull, and all the manuals are in english. now I know a lot of english vocabulary about engine and only about engine :/

Confirming, 65B67 is a 1975 model number. The Bxxxx is standard Johnson/Evinrude way of listing the serial number. The "B" means it was made in Belgium.

Your English is much better than my French.
