whats a 1150 worth

hi, i can get a 1974, 1150 no power trim or tilt, hasnt ran for a year but was tuned up spring of 2009 and not ran, also with the price is a old chrysler trihull boat in not great shape and a caklin trailer in ok shape. if motor runs good is it all worth $1000.00 canadian? thanks

I think that price is a bit high. All older boats are probably worth at least $500, so maybe it is worth a bit more than that.

Are you looking for a complete boat; or just a motor?

If you just want the motor; I would think that you'd have to look at the realistic cost of disposing of the boat. Some areas it would be free at the dump; or free on Craigslist. Other areas make disposal an expensive process.

Then of course there are the unknowns relating to a motor of that age. It ran great the last time it was used! Where have I heard that before?

I'd try to shoot for closer to the $500.00 mark that Chris 1956 mentioned. The trailer should be worth half of that...the parts that are salvageable on the motor should be worth the other half; in case the motor doesn't measure up.

i am looking for just a motor but up here in canada even old motors (and parts) are crazy priced and boat will be equiped with a 1968 merc 650 that i have and sold, boat is not great but its not junk either

I sold my 79 (and a half as it turned out) for $950 on Ebay a few years back. It needed power packs but had perfect factory compression.

Deal was they had to take the boat with it.

Then I got it back LOL because it was a 79.5 not a 79 and the head wasn't compatible with the build he was doing
