Re: Whats Big, White and Beached?

A 41-foot sport yacht was run 60 feet onto the rocky, wooded shore... "Driving a boat up on shore that far is not normal," said Paul Sickman... "It's highly unnormal."

Thanks for clearing that up.

Hmmmmm. Driving any boat onto the rocks is not normal.

Given the size and weight of that vessel, and its probable top speed, 60' onto a shallow sloping, rocky shore does not seem remarkable to me at all.

If anything about it surprizes me it is that the Darwin effect did not apply.

That area has had its share of mishaps due to nightime drunken boating. The Stillwater area has a lot of big boats and a number of people with too many dollars and not enough sense..

Newton's First Law of Motion

Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.

Still true!

Wonder if Boom would deem this law an act of the libs and in need of recension.

What is the "normal" distance for a drunk to drive his boat ashore?

I would say that it would be readily calcuable using the formula of 'kts x % of blood alcohol'.

...and no BB. It is an incontrovertable law of the Good Lord Almighty, and the libs would not have any kind of truck with that notion.
