What would be considered good compression on an 1980 johnson 25hp? Anyone know what the compression is from the factory new??

125 top and the width of the needle on my guage below 125 on the bottom...

Thats dry...no fuel hooked up and just put crank and powerhead back together...tiny bit of 2 stroke oil used when putting pistons back in cylinders a cpl days ago...

I don't think you will have any psi issues with 120+

Take your word for it....honestly id rather have a pre 90's omc over any new 2 or 4 stroke.....RELIABILITY! with very minimal maintnance....
